1. MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADORS

Students are more likely to approach their peers for support and advice. By training students as Mental Health Ambassadors, GIS, Greater Noida intends to create a network of peer support where students feel comfortable reaching out to their fellow students. This can help reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourage open discussions about mental well-being. The students will play a crucial role in raising awareness about mental health issues among students thereby contributing to a more informed and empathetic school community where students feel safe seeking help without fear of judgment or discrimination.

By actively engaging in mental health advocacy, students develop a sense of purpose, empathy, and self-confidence, which can contribute to their own mental well-being. It also provides students with an opportunity to develop leadership skills, empathy, and emotional intelligence. They learn to listen, support, and guide their peers effectively. This experience can empower students to become advocates not just for mental health but for other important issues in their communities as well.

2. GREEN BRIGADE

The school plans to have a Green Brigade through a collaboration with the Blue Planet. The advocates of Green Brigade will educate students about environmental issues, helping them develop a deeper understanding of the challenges our planet faces. Through workshops, presentations, and discussions, students will learn about climate change, pollution, conservation, and sustainable practices. This knowledge will empower them to make informed decisions and take action to protect the environment.

By participating in the Green Brigade, students will develop a range of valuable skills. They will enhance their leadership abilities by organizing and leading environmental initiatives. Communication skills, collaborative teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills will also be cultivated through planning and executing Green Brigade activities. It will provide opportunities for hands-on experience in environmental conservation. Students can engage in tree-planting activities, clean-up drives, and recycling initiatives, gaining practical knowledge about environmental stewardship. Such experiences foster a sense of responsibility, empathy, and connection to the natural world.

3. CLASS COFFEE

Class Coffee is a novel idea which will provide an opportunity for parents and school staff to interact in a relaxed setting. It will help foster positive relationships between parents and teachers, administrators, and other school personnel. Building strong relationships can enhance communication and collaboration, leading to better support for students. It will encourage parents to actively participate in their child's education. When parents feel comfortable and welcomed, they are more likely to get involved in school activities, volunteer, and attend future formal meetings or events. Increased parent engagement positively impacts students' academic progress and overall well-being.

Class Coffee will also create a space for open dialogue and sharing of perspectives. School staff can gather valuable insights from parents regarding their experiences, concerns, and suggestions. This feedback can help schools identify areas for improvement, make informed decisions, and tailor their educational practices to better meet the needs of students and families. By organizing such informal meetings, school will create a welcoming and inclusive environment. When parents feel comfortable and connected to the school community, they are more likely to speak positively about the school, which can contribute to a positive overall school climate. A positive school climate, in turn, fosters a conducive learning environment for students and boosts their overall success.

4. NEWSPAPER IN EDUCATION

Reading Comprehension: Newspapers in Education will continue to be a part of the school this year as well. It provides real-world reading material that can improve students' reading comprehension skills. The varied content in newspapers exposes students to different writing styles, genres, and perspectives, helping them become better readers. Newspapers offer up-to- date information on local, national, and international events. By incorporating newspaper activities, teachers will promote current events discussions in the classroom, fostering students' awareness of the world around them and encouraging critical thinking.

Engaging with newspaper articles allows students to expand their vocabulary, improve their word recognition skills, and enhance their overall language proficiency. Newspaper articles often present different viewpoints and perspectives on issues, encouraging students to think critically and analyse the information presented. Engaging with newspapers helps students develop their ability to evaluate sources, question assumptions, and form well-reasoned opinions. Newspaper activities can inspire and improve students' writing skills. By analysing news articles, students can learn about journalistic writing styles, structure, and techniques, which they can then apply to their own writing. Writing letters to the editor or creating their own newspaper articles can enhance students' writing proficiency and creativity.

5. PEER WORKSHOPS

Peer workshops were started till Grade II this year which helped the school to create a platform for participants to share their knowledge and expertise. Each participant brings unique perspectives, experiences, and skills, contributing to a diverse and rich learning environment. It allows individuals to learn from one another, expanding their knowledge base and gaining insights that they may not have encountered otherwise.

One of the significant advantages of peer workshops is the opportunity to receive feedback from fellow participants. Peers can provide valuable insights, suggestions, and constructive criticism based on their own experiences and expertise. This feedback loop helps individuals refine their work, identify blind spots, and gain fresh perspectives, ultimately improving the quality of their output. Such workshops expose participants to new ideas, trends, and best practices in their field. By engaging in discussions, presentations, and activities facilitated by peers, individuals can stay updated on the latest developments and expand their professional horizons. This exposure can contribute to their professional growth and increase their value in their respective domains.

6. MICRO TEACHING LESSONS

Microteaching allows teachers to focus on specific skills or aspects of teaching, such as questioning techniques, classroom management, or instructional strategies. By isolating these skills and practicing them in controlled settings, teachers can refine their techniques and become more effective instructors. It provides a structured platform for receiving feedback from peers or mentors. Since the lessons are brief and focused, feedback can be more specific and actionable. Teachers can identify areas of strength and areas that need improvement, helping them grow professionally.

By practicing and receiving feedback in a supportive environment, teachers can build their confidence in their teaching abilities and reflect on their instructional practices. The incremental nature of microteaching allows teachers to gradually refine their skills, which can boost their self-assurance when they move on to teach larger lessons.

7. FLIPPED CLASSROOMS

Flipped classrooms have been introduced by the teachers to prioritize active learning over passive listening. By moving lectures outside of class time, students have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, discussions, problem-solving exercises, and collaborative projects during class. This active engagement promotes deeper understanding, critical thinking, and application of knowledge. It also allows students to learn at their own pace. They can watch or read the lecture materials multiple times, pause, rewind, or fast-forward as needed to accommodate their learning style and comprehension level. This flexibility supports differentiated instruction and personalized learning.

With the lecture component moved outside of class, more time can be dedicated to higher- order thinking skills. In-class activities can focus on analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and application of knowledge, as students have already acquired the foundational information beforehand. This promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.

8. ALUMNI ASSOCIATION

Alumni association will be put into place this year to provide a platform for networking among former students. By connecting with fellow alumni, individuals can expand their professional network, explore career opportunities, and seek advice or mentorship. Mentors can share their knowledge, offer career insights, and provide guidance on personal and professional development. This mentorship fosters a sense of community and helps students navigate their academic and professional journeys. Their success stories and positive testimonials can enhance the school's reputation, attract prospective students, and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders.

9. SPICMACAY

SPIC MACAY will be introduced this year with an aim to expose students to the rich heritage and diversity of Indian classical music, dance forms, and cultural traditions. By organizing performances, workshops, and interactions with renowned artists, SPIC MACAY provides an immersive cultural experience that expands students' understanding and appreciation of Indian arts and traditions. By promoting Indian classical music and cultural forms, SPIC MACAY plays a crucial role in preserving and safeguarding the country's traditional heritage.

Through exposure to these art forms, students develop an understanding of their historical significance, contributing to the preservation and continuation of India's cultural legacy. Integrating SPIC MACAY activities into the school curriculum enhances the holistic development of students. Exposure to classical music and dance fosters aesthetic sensibilities, creativity, emotional expression, and discipline. These art forms also promote cognitive skills, such as concentration, memory, and pattern recognition. SPIC MACAY programs provide a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics.

10. SCHOOL CINEMA

LXL Ideas enables schools to impart Lessons of Life by creating unique, impact-led in- school as well as digital experiences for students, parents and educators. For over two decades, LXL Ideas has transformed education through films, events, research, training and publications.

School Cinema is a first-of-its-kind program in the world that has introduced film pedagogy to schools. Research proves that films as part of a curriculum are effective in retention and learning outcomes. School Cinema is a film-based learning program introduced as part of the school curriculum that supports student learning. Social Emotional Learning, Life Skills, Health and Mental well-being and Academic Achievements are both interwoven and strongly recommended by NEP 2020 and UNICEF'S WHO.

School Cinema uses cinematic storytelling, thought-provoking workbooks, and digital activities to engage and influence students, parents, and educators. School Cinema has a life-skills and social-emotional learning curriculum for students from KG to Grade 10.
